JOLIET – Medical Director of Stroke Neurology and NeuroEndovascular Surgery Dr. Aamir Badruddin, was recently honored by Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center as the Physician of the Year.
Badruddin joined (PSJMC) in 2011. He is board certified in neurology and vascular Neurology. He received his medical degree and completed his residency at Rush University (Chicago).
Badruddin plays a vital role in making PSJMC’s Neuroscience Institute a Will County Primary Stroke Center, by being at the forefront of the latest technology such as tele-stroke. Tele-stroke is a two-way advanced audio-visual technology that allows the endovascular neurologist to remotely assess and interact with the patient and their family, in addition to collaboratively consulting with the on-site physician and nurses. This allows stroke specialists to view the patient from any off-site location through video technology.
Other finalists for the “Physician of the Year” award included: Dr. Mark Danielson (general surgery), Dr. Sreenivasa Dharma (anesthesia), Dr. Mary Gordon (cardiology), and Dr. Brian Winkleman (general surgeon).
