Man accused of sex crimes after impregnating Marengo teen gets probation

WOODSTOCK – A 21-year-old man was given two years of probation after he admitted to a sex crime involving a teenager.

Court documents revealed that Austin J. Vesely had impregnated a girl who was 15 at the time and he was 20.

According to an order of protection filed by the girl's mother, Vesely had been homeless and was invited to live with the girl and her mother in Marengo, where the sex act was alleged to have occurred between May 19 and July 22.

In addition to the probation term, Vesely was sentenced to spend a year in jail. He's been in custody since his July arrest, and with day-for-day credit, his jail sentence is considered served.

Vesely also can have no unsupervised access to computers, he must not view pornographic material, and he was ordered to pay a $500 fine plus court costs. He also must have no contact with the victim and will register for life as a sex offender.

Remaining sex charges were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea.

Vesely was represented by Assistant Public Defender Angelo Mourelatos. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State's Attorney John Gibbons. His plea was accepted by McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather.
