Flood Brothers makes Carol Stream preschooler honorary garbage man

CAROL STREAM – After dressing up as a Flood Brothers truck for Halloween, a local preschooler received a special treat Nov. 25, when he served as an honorary garbage man for a day.

As a surprise to Carol Stream resident Justin Bachar, Oakbrook Terrace-based Flood Brothers Disposal/Recycling Services arranged with his mom, Tiffany, to surprise Justin with the opportunity to be a Flood Brothers garbage man, according to a company news release.

When Justin arrived home from preschool Nov. 25, he was greeted with a real garbage truck — 34,000 pounds and all — and put to work, picking up cans at a few local homes.

“It was the best day of my life,” Justin said in the release.

He also was presented with a model Flood Brothers truck and sweatshirt.

"We’re keeping an eye on this kid as his enthusiasm is the kind of thing we look for in employees," the release stated.
