Villa Park man charged with DUI after crashing car into tree

VILLA PARK – A Villa Park man was charged Dec. 5 with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol in relation to a Nov. 28 crash that injured two people, according to a Villa Park Police Department news release.

At 4:37 a.m., Villa Park police and firefighters responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 600 block of West Plymouth Street involving Jose A. Ortiz-Barocio, 25, of Villa Park. A 2005 Ford Explorer had struck a tree, causing significant damage to the vehicle and seriously injuring both occupants, the release stated. They were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

An investigation led to aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and no valid driver's license charges against Ortiz-Barocio, according to the release.

Ortiz-Barocio is being held on $150,000 bond at the DuPage County Jail, the release stated.
