Battery

Thaddeus Scott-Chew, 22, of the 4800 block of West Van Buren Street, Chicago, was charged at 9 p.m. Sept. 9 with battery in the 100 block of South Route 83.

DUI

• German Torres, 23, of the 300 block of East Palmer Avenue, Northlake, was charged at 1:42 a.m. Sept. 10 with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usae at North Avenue and York Street.

• Shawn Major, 36, of the 300 block of Glen Avenue, Morton, was charged at 2:09 a.m. Sept. 11 with two counts of DUI alcohol, speeding, two counts of failure to signal and having only one headlight at North Avenue and Route 83.

• Regina Braley, 28, of the 400 block of East Columbia Avenue, Des Plaines, was charged at 2:10 a.m. Sept. 13 with two counts of DUI alcohol in the 500 block of East St. Charles Road, Villa Park.

Marijuana possession

• Nicholas J. Romanas, 33, of the 700 block of West Evergreen Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 3:03 p.m. Sept. 8 with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper display of registration plate at Route 83 and Interstate 290.

• Diego Perez, 20, of the 0 to 100 block of North 7th Avenue, Maywood, was charged at 7:05 p.m. Sept. 11 with failure to signal, speeding and possession of marijuana at Butterfield Road and Kirk Avenue. Victor E. Ruiz, 25, of the 200 block of North 6th Avenue, Melrose Park, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance after he was found to have Xanax pills.

• Joshua Gutierrez, 23, of the 13100 block of Meadow Hill Lane, Lemont, was charged at 12:59 a.m. Sept. 12 with possession of marijuana at Roosevelt Road and Interstate 290.

• A juvenile was charged at 4:45 p.m. Sept. 14 with retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tobacco by a minor in the 200 block of South Route 83 after stealing $42 worth of merchandise.

Public intoxication

• Mark V. Malchert, 56, of the 200 block of North Hampshire Avenue, was charged at 3:07 p.m. Sept. 8 with public intoxication and possession of open alcohol in public at Elmhurst Avenue and Avon Road. Malchert was also charged at 1:23 p.m. Sept. 9 with the same offenses in the 200 block of North York Street. He was cited at 10:26 a.m. Sept. 10 with public drunkenness and open alcohol in public in the 100 block of North Haven Road. He was charged at 1:14 p.m. Sept. 11 with disorderly conduct in the 200 block of North Hampshire Avenue for sleeping on a public way.

• Frank J. Florio, 54, of the 2700 block of 72nd Court, Elmwood Park, was cited at 9:59 a.m. for public urination Sept. 14 at Lake and Walnut streets.

Underage drinking

Tiffany Lutka, 19, of the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue, Shelby Spurlin, 20, of the 8600 block of Second Avenue, Bloomington, Minn., and Atinuke Sonuga, 20, of the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue, were charged at 1:35 a.m. Sept. 14 with consumption of alcohol by a minor at York Street and Cayuga Avenue.

Disorderly conduct

Madeline J. Short, 23, of the 400 block of Spring Road, was charged at 9 a.m. Sept. 8 with disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia near her home after police found her purse near her neighbor’s window, which had been opened and the screen ripped. Short told police she believes she entered the neighbor’s home when she was intoxicated, thinking it was her apartment.

Suspicious vehicle

A man reportedly stopped his car and asked juveniles to get in for a ride at 1:28 a.m. Sept. 13 at St. Charles Road and Route 83.

Identity theft

• A woman reported fraudulent activity on her credit car between noon Aug. 18 and 12:40 p.m. Sept. 10 in the 400 block of West Fremont Avenue.

• A man reported multiple unauthorized transactions totaling $883.85 on his debit card between noon Sept. 8 and noon Sept. 9 in the 600 block of North Michigan Street.

Forgery

A business check for $6,000 was reported altered and deposited at 3:40 p.m. Aug. 26 in the 1000 block of South York Street.

Theft, burglary

• Joseph Sobota, 37, of the 6700 block of Aspen Lane, Westmont, was charged at 9:55 p.m. Sept. 9 with theft, unlawful tampering with a vehicle and resisting a police officer in the 900 block of Industrial Drive after he siphoned five gallons of gas from a parked car and ran from police before being taken into custody.

• Two juveniles were cited at 7:18 p.m. Sept. 11 for retail theft in the 200 block of Route 83 after stealing two pairs of gloves and candy.

• An iPad mini, iPhone 4S and iPod Touch were stolen between noon and 3:20 p.m. Sept. 13 from a bedroom in the 500 block of South Cedar Avenue.

• A purse was stolen between 10 p.m. Sept. 12 and 11 a.m. Sept. 13 from inside an unlocked car in the 100 block of Adelaide Street.

Attempted theft

A van lock was reported popped open at 8:26 a.m. Sept. 10 in the 900 block of Industrial Drive.

Property damage

Blue spray paint was found at 10:35 a.m. Sept. 12 on the east side of the overpass pedestrian sidewalk at Emroy Avenue and Interstate 290.

Property lost

A brown bi-fold wallet containing a driver’s license, state identification and debit card was reported lost at 4 p.m. Sept. 7 in the 100 block of North York Street.

Property found

• A bicycle was found at 2:38 a.m. Sept. 13 in the 100 block of West First Street.

• A red and black bicycle was found at 12:14 p.m. Sept. 14 at Maple Trail Woods.
