NAPA store coming to Joliet

JOLIET – Construction crews have begun work on a new NAPA Auto Parts store near Jefferson Street and Hammes Avenue.

Masonry work has started on the site, and steel erection is scheduled to begin shortly, according to Wayne Marth, a project architect with Shive-Hattery Inc. of Downers Grove.

The 6,000-square-foot building will sit on less than an acre of land just east of the Walgreens store at 2101 W. Jefferson St.

“We hope to be all enclosed and paved by the end of August,” Marth said.

Interior work by the tenant will begin at that point.

“They’ll probably open sometime in October,” Marth said.

Marth said the owner of the property also developed the Walgreens next door.

NAPA has local stores at 1416 W. Jefferson St., 221 Brook Forest Ave. in Shorewood, 24053 Municipal Drive in Channahon and 15420 S. Route 59 in Plainfield.
