LISLE – Lisle police are looking for a man suspected of robbing Aldi in the 5500 block of Route 53 at gunpoint on Monday.

Police said the suspect, described as a white man in his 20s standing about 5-foot-8 and weighing about 160 pounds, entered the store around 2:35 p.m. Monday and attempted to take cash from an open cash drawer. When the cashier attempted to close the drawer, the suspect displayed a silver or grey large-framed handgun, police said.

After removing cash from the drawer, the suspect left the store and was followed on foot to a silver or grey four-door sedan, which he used to flee the scene eastbound on Maple Avenue.

No customers were injured during the armed robbery.

The man wore a baseball cap, possibly with a "Hurley" logo. He also wore a black jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lisle Police Department at 630-271-4200 and ask to be transferred to an officer.
