Crazy Pour hopes to cater to all

VILLA PARK – The general managers of a new sports bar along North Avenue have a big dream of offering a little something for everyone.

Crazy Pour, 105 E. North Ave. in Villa Park is an upscale sports bar specializing in craft beer and whiskey. But according to Tiziano "Tiz" Savino, one of three consulting partners, there's a lot more to the 15,000 square-foot, brown brick building than local brews and fine spirits.

"We're offering something different around here," Savino said.

The establishment is a bar, a restaurant, a lounge and a club, as well as an Arlington Park designated off-track betting (OTB) facility. Additionally, the building offers a video gaming room and boasts sizable private rooms for events, parties and conferences, Savino said.

But it all begins with the food and drink, something that's sure to be common ground among all patrons – from sports fanatics to families to the seasoned gamblers placing bets inside the OTB.

Categorized as "upscale bar food," the menu from Chef Enrique Garcia, a mainstay at the former restaurant, Giannotti's, includes gourmet burgers, pizzas, pastas and fish tacos.

"We don't want to be labeled an Italian restaurant, we want to be labeled a sports bar – with awesome food," Savino said.

The food is what sets the place apart from other watering holes, adds consulting partner Stafa Amin.

"Anybody can get a beer at any bar [but] what makes us different is our menu," he said. "Now people can go to a sports bar and have a nice meal – and drink a beer."

The bar features roughly 50 craft beers on draft, including offerings from local brewers like Church Street (Itasca) and Small Town (Wauconda). There are currently 68 types of whiskey available, with dozens more on the way.

For every sporting broadcast, in every sport, the establishment has every angle covered, with 160 televisions and four, 130-inch HD projectors. If there's a game, match, race or fight happening, it will be on, Savino said, adding that there is no cover charge for Pay-Per-View events.

Additionally, the bar area has billiard tables and dart boards with leagues starting, and boasts two outdoor patios with fireplaces and windows to order drinks, Savino said.

"It's a beautiful building," he said. "We have something for everyone."
