DeKALB – A 26-year-old woman accused of forcing a young boy in her care to perform sex acts on her remained in DeKalb County Jail on Tuesday with $1 million bail.
DeKalb police began investigating Cynthia Warren, of the 1300 block of West Lincoln Highway, based on a report from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Lt. Bob Redel said. The boy was younger than 13 years old.
"We talked to her, and she corroborated a lot of the things he said," Redel said.
She was arrested Monday and charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The more serious charge, predatory criminal sexual assault, typically is punishable with between six and 30 years in prison.
The investigation remains on-going, as police think the abuse had been going on for the past year or two, Redel said. Warren is next due in court Oct. 22.
