LOMBARD – Four schools within in Lombard District 44 will have new principals at the beginning of the school year. Three of the principals have previously served in other positions within District 44 schools, and one is new to the district.
Eric Haren is the new principal of Manor Hill School. He has been with District 44 since 2003, when he worked as a sixth-grade teacher and later as an assistant principal at Glen Westlake Middle School. He began his teaching career in 1997 in Oswego. Haren received his bachelor's and master's degrees and his Type 75 General Administrative Certification from North Central College.
Brett Sharkey will begin the school year as the new assistant principal at Glenn Westlake Middle School. He is new to District 44 and has 16 years of teaching experience at Maine Township District 207. He has a bachelor's degree in special education from Illinois State University and a master's degree and Type 75 General Administrative Certification from Aurora University.
Dave Danielski, formerly the principal of William Hammerschmidt School, is the new principal at Madison School.
Danielski started with the district in 1999 as a fourth-grade teacher at Madison School, then moved to Hammerschmidt School in 2007 to become the principal. After six years at Hammerschmidt, he is returning to the school where he began his career in Lombard. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master's degree from st. Xavier University and a Type 75 General Administrative Certification from North Central College.
Melissa Payne will replace Danielski as the new principal of William Hammerschmidt School. She has been with the district for 12 years, first serving as a sixth-grade teacher at Glenn Westlake Middle School and then providing support and then by helping develop the math and science curriculum. She has a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and a master's from North Central College.
