SENECA, Ill. — Mr. Robert C. “Bob” Howe, 63, of Seneca, Ill., passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services for Bob will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, at Stavanger Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Phil Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m Friday, prior to services, at the church.
The American Legion Kasal Post 357 will fold and present the flag outside after services.
Bob was born Oct. 10, 1949, in Ottawa, Ill., to James and Rita (Thompson) Howe. He graduated from Seneca High School in 1967.
He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968 – 1972 as a radio man with top clearance communication. He retired in 1998, after serving 30 years at Caterpillar as an electrician. He was a member of the American Legion Kasal Post 357 and The Moose.
He is survived by his mother, Rita; three sons, Rob (Lisa) and Randy (Erin), both of Seneca, and Ryan Howe of Morris, Ill.; three grandchildren, Haden, Hunter, and Matthew; one sister, Joan (Howe) Labieniec of Homer Glen, Ill.; one brother, Bill (Peggy) Howe of Plano, Texas; and his special friend, Janet Ratcliff of Seneca.
He is preceded in death by his father, James; and one brother, James III.
Pallbearers will be Brian Ratcliff, Bryan and Jake Labieniec, Paul Hogue, Tom Guerrero, and Bryon Stone. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Dew, Jim Boyd, and John Rivett.
Memorials may be directed to an organization of the donor’s choice.
