Asian Buffet in Sterling opens after 3-year wait

STERLING – After a 3-year wait, Asian Buffet opened Monday.

"I'm very happy," said owner Mike Wei of Rock Falls. "We've got a lot of people who've been waiting, waiting. Finally we're open. Everybody's happy."

The restaurant at 3106 E. Lincolnway was originally expected to open in April 2010.

The restaurant serves Japanese sushi rolls, Mongolian stir fry and standard Chinese dishes.

The buffet costs $6.99 for lunch, which is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and $10.29 for dinner, which is served from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. every day.

First Wok in Rock Falls, which Wei also owns, has been been closed since a Dec. 12 fire. Wei said Monday that the restaurant at 1110 First Ave. will reopen at an undetermined date.

The restaurant has banquet rooms available. Delivery is not available.
