The Grand Jury of the Grundy County Circuit Court met Dec. 5 and came back with the following indictments:
• Esmael B. Teixeira, 29, was indicted on a Nov. 7 charge of unlawful possession of cannabis, a Class 3 felony, and unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, a Class 2 felony. According to the indictment Teixeira was in possession of more than 500 grams, but less than 2,000 grams of a substance containing cannabis. Illinois State Trooper Ken Gurney testified before the grand jury.
• Bethany T. Faulkner, 29, was indicted on a Nov. 7 charge of unlawful possession of cannabis, a Class 3 felony, and unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, a Class 2 felony. According to the indictment Faulkner was in possession of more than 500 grams, but less than 2,000 grams of a substance containing cannabis. Illinois State Trooper Ken Gurney testified before the grand jury.
• Jason C. Mathias, 37, of Chenoa, was indicted on two counts of a July 31 charge of theft, a Class 3 felony. According to the indictment, Mathias allegedly stole more than $500 worth of jewelry from two women. Grundy County Sheriff’s Department Detective Lonnie Harvey testified before the grand jury.
• Breanna R. McGarvey, 19, was indicted on a Feb. 27 charge of unlawful use of a debit card, a Class 4 felony. According to the indictment, McGarvey tried to use someone else’s debit card at McDonalds for a value not to exceed $300. Morris police Detective Alicia Steffes testified before the grand jury.
• Kevin T. Fox, 27, was indicted on five counts for a April 9 charge of forgery, a Class 3 felony. According to the indictment, Fox knowingly tried to cash multiple checks to himself at Morris Community Credit Union that were not from his checking account. The checks totaled more than $900. Fox was also charged with a June 20 charge of theft, a Class 3 felony, for allegedly stealing a computer printer worth more than $500. Morris police Detective Eric Werden testified before the grand jury.
• Joseph M. Sasso Jr., 19, was indicted on a Oct. 28 charge of aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony. According to the indictment, Sasso allegedly shoved the right arm of Morris Patrolman Paul Burke. Burke testified before the grand jury.
• Ashley N. Haase, 25, was indicted on a Nov. 6 charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony. According to the indictment, Haase allegedly had a substance containing hydrocodone. Coal City Sgt. Chris Harseim testified before the grand jury.
• Nathanial R. Matheny, 30, was indicted on a June 18 charge of aggravated battery, a Class 2 felony. According to the indictment, Matheny allegedly committed battery to Morris Patrolman Steve Huettemann by grabbing his face and vest. Huettemann testified before the grand jury.
• Dawn M. Kyle, 45, of Minooka, was indicted on a charge of theft, a Class 2 felony, that occurred from Feb. 7, 2011 to June 10, 2012. According to the indictment she allegedly stole more than $10,000 from the Hot Rod Barn. Grundy County Sheriff’s Department Detective Lonnie Harvey testified before the grand jury.
• Adam W. Alonzo, 25, was indicted on a Dec. 2 charge of theft, a Class 3 felony. According to the indictment, Alonzo allegedly stole a Captain Morgan statue worth more than $5,000 from Wirtz Beverage. Minooka Officer Matthew Juras testified before the grand jury.
• Cindy M. Hoecker, 36, of Tinley Park, was indicted on a July 15 charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony. According to the indictment, the substance contained cocaine. Minooka Officer Matthew Juras testified before the grand jury.
• Stanley D. Light, 36, of Dwight, was indicted on a Nov. 3 charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony. According to the indictment, the substance contained hydrocodone. Grundy County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Trent Olson testified before the grand jury.
• Stephanie L. Van Dyke, 32, of Morris, was indicted on two counts of a Oct. 21 charge of forgery, a Class 3 felony. According to the indictment she tried to sign a man’s check twice to Morris Liquor. Morris Detective Alicia Steffes testified before the grand jury.
