Jim McLain

SUN CITY, Ariz. — Jim McLain, 82, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, in Sun City, Ariz., with his family by his side.

Born June 29, 1930, in Mt. Vernon to Henry and Mary McLain, he married Mary Ann Brolley Feb. 5, 1955. She survives.

He attended Illinois Wesleyan University on a full football scholarship. He served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He and his wife raised their two children, Gwen and Kelly, in Princeton, before semi-retiring to Arizona.

Also surviving are one daughter, Gwen (Jay) McLain-DeBruyn of Saugatuck, Mich.; one son, Kelly (Julie) McLain of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three granddaughters, Amber Fae Burger, Ashley Anne Burger and Kaitlin Elizabeth McLain; one great-grandchild, Orion Jack Greene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale McLain.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
