WINFIELD – The parent company of Delnor Hospital may add a west suburban orthopedic medicine group as an affiliate.
Friday, Cadence Health, the organization that resulted from the merger of the Delnor and Central DuPage health systems, announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire OAD Orthopaedics, a medical practice operating orthopedic medicine offices in seven communities, mostly in DuPage County.
The doctors operating at OAD, including specialists focusing on the spine, joints, limbs and sports medicine, had medical staff privileges at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield before the acquisition by Cadence.
The acquisition would add 23 orthopedic specialists to the Cadence Physician Group, Cadence said in a statement.
Cadence also will acquire the real estate owned by OAD at its seven locations, including in Bartlett, Wheaton and Sandwich, and OAD’s outpatient surgery center in Warrenville.
The acquisition still must be approved by state regulators, Cadence said.
Cadence said the acquisition of OAD will boost its position in the region as a leading provider of orthopedic medicine.
Cadence noted it ranks as the third-largest provider of joint replacement in Illinois, and its orthopedic program has been nationally recognized.
“The potential acquisition of OAD is a significant milestone,” Cadence CEO Michael Vivoda said in a statement. “The addition of OAD to Cadence Health expands and enhances our ability to meet the growing needs of the patients we serve.”
