WEST DUNDEE – The Dundee Township Historical Society will have its annual meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday at the museum, 426 Highland Ave.
After a brief meeting, guest speaker Bert Zoub will share stories of his days as a student at Tower Hill School for Boys. The private boarding school was in East Dundee at the top of Hill Street in the old Haeger Mansion.
Most of the students hailed from Chicago.
David Haeger bought the original 1862 farmhouse from Hiram Torrence in 1873 and transformed it into the grand Victorian Gothic Mansion it is today. The property has seen many transformations in its 150-year history.
The public is invited to learn more of the history of the mansion and the little-known private school that was housed there for a brief period.
There is no charge for the program, but donations are appreciated.
For information, call the museum at 847-428-6996.
