Mr. Abraham J. "Abe" Black, 22, of Morris, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, March 24, 2012.

Born April 29, 1989 in Morris, Abraham was the son of Laurie J. Black and Daniel T. Hennings. Abe received his education in the Morris schools. He was a member of the 2007 Morris Redskins football team that played in the IHSA State Finals in Champaign, Ill. He graduated from Morris Community High School with the class of 2008 and attended the College of DuPage in Westmont, Ill.

He enjoyed spending his time outdoors and loved to go fishing.

Survivors include his loving parents, Laurie J. (Timothy McKanna) Black of Morris, and Dan (Lori) Hennings of Braidwood, Ill., and their daughter, Kimberly; paternal grandmother, Angela Hennings of Joliet, Ill.; special cousin, Sandra Van Cleave; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Patsy and Tony Black; paternal grandfather, William E. Hennings; and uncle, Mark A. Hennings.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. Wednesday,March 28, 2012, until the time of memorial services at 7 p.m. at U. C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris. Pastor David Jankowski from the Minooka Bible Church will officiate.

Private family inurnment will occur at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery.

The preferred form of remembrance would be memorial gifts in Abe's memory directed to the family for distribution to local charities of their choosing.
