DIXON – Celia Ruth Motsinger, 91, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. She worked at the Dixon Developmental Center for 32 years, retiring in 1982, as a food service supervisor.
Celia was born May 1, 1920, in Williamson County, the daughter of Harris J. and Alma (Simpson) Perry. She married Delmar Motsinger on Aug. 8, 1936, in Williamson County. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 1984. She was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church in Dixon.
Survivors include two daughters, Alma DeShong of Tucson, and Brenda (John) Jensen of Dixon; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Motsinger of DeKalb; 11 grandchildren, Deborah Jones of Tucson, Jeff (Nancy) Morganflash of Billings, Mont., David (Nikki) Morganflash of Tucson, Celia (David) Riggs of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Todd Motsinger, Dina Motsinger and Lori (Jay) Jensen, all of DeKalb, and Shauna (Lupe Hernandez) Jensen, Michael (Dalene) Jensen, Lisa (Darren) Dexter, Rachel (Glen Helfrich) Jensen, all of Dixon; 26 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Harold “Bud” Motsinger; and two sisters, Lou Zane Adams and Mary Deputy.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Northside Baptist Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Daniel Bentz, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
