GENEVA – For nine years, Aurelio's Pizza in Geneva was delivery and carry-out only, but at 3 p.m. Wednesday, it will move and open as a full service restaurant.
Aurelio's will move from 17 N. Fourth St. across the street to 330 W. State St., site of the former Isabella's, which closed in 2009, said Tyler Larocca, brother-in-law of Aurelio's owners Kevin and Tracy Serra.
"We had no seating at all in the former carry-out delivery space," Larocca said. "It will be a full sit-down restaurant. We did a total renovation of the space. We will also have two small private dining rooms. We will have a bar with 13 stools. We will serve beer and wine. We'll have a large outdoor patio. It's been a labor of love. Kevin and Tracy Serra are hands-on."
And Thanksgiving eve is the best time to open a pizza restaurant, he said.
"It's the biggest pizza night of the year," Larocca said. "People do not want to cook dinner because they've been cooking all day. We sell hundreds of pizzas on the night before Thanksgiving."
The restaurant will also sell pasta, salads, sandwiches and entrees.
