Kish announces healthcare scholarship winners

DeKALB – In May, Kishwaukee Community Hospital awarded a total of $26,000 in scholarship money to individuals pursuing careers in healthcare.

Alexandra Bantz of Sandwich, who is pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing from Illinois Wesleyan University, received the Virginia Larsen Nursing Scholarship, awarded to an outstanding nursing applicant.

Kish Hospital Auxiliary Healthcare Scholarships were awarded to Crystal Dalaguete of Sycamore, studying nursing at Kishwaukee College; Stacey A. Dreska of Kirkland, studying physical therapy at Northern Illinois University; Deirdra Galitz of Sycamore, studying radiologic technology at Kishwaukee College; Eran Gwillim of Sycamore, pursuing an M.D. at the University of Illinois; Jessica Louis of Sycamore,pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing from Carroll University; Kelsey Rodgers of DeKalb, studying community health at the University of Illinois; Bailey Russell of DeKalb, pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing from Millikin University; Laina Scheri of Cortland, studying nursing; Natalie Sgarlata of Sycamore, pursuing an M.D. at the University of Illinois; Karin Stokke of DeKalb, studying optometry at Des Moines University; Joanne Tallon of Sycamore, pursuing a bachelor of science nursing from Northern Illinois University; and Laura Zantout of Sycamore, studying medicine at Rosalind Franklin University.

The Floann and Hallie Hamilton Diagnostic Imaging Scholarships were awarded to Haley Faivre of DeKalb and Deirdre Galitz of Sycamore, who are both studying at Kishwaukee College.

Karin Stokke received the Kishwaukee Community Hospital Physicians' Medical Education Scholarship.

Laura Zantout also received the James J. Feeney M.D. Memorial Scholarship.

The Hamilton Diagnostic Imaging Scholarships, the Physicians' Medical Education Scholarship, and Feeney M.D. Memorial Scholarship are provided through the KishHealth Foundation.
