ROCK FALLS – Johnathon R. Stern, 38, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, as the result of an accident near Normal. He was a truck driver, having started out driving for Self Help, Thomeway Lines and Rock River Cartage; and for the past 4 years for G & D Inc. of Rochelle.
He was born Sept. 7, 1972, the son of John L. and Barbara L. (Houts) Stern.
Johnathon was a 1990 graduate of Rock Falls Township High School, where he played football and wrestled.
Johnathon was a diehard Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed going four-wheeling. He will be greatly missed by his special companion, “Addie.”
Surviving are his daughter, Caitlyn Stern at home; his parents, John and Barbara Stern of Rock Falls; his brother, Leslie (Amy) Stern of Apple Valley, Minn.; his nieces Abigail and Myah; and his nephew, Coriston John Stern.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. John Kermott and Albert Houts co-officiating.
Private burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to his daughter’s education fund would be greatly appreciated.
