Face time with Kim Toth

Batavia resident Kim Toth, 45 was supporting her two children in a Fox Valley Robotics competition at Rotolo Middle School when she answered 11 questions from the Kane County Chronicle's Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Houston and Waco, Texas, New York City and in Saudi Arabia when my dad had a job there. I have also lived in Turkey right after high school; my husband traveled with work, so we also lived in England and Dubai.

Pets? Two cats named Padme Amidala, Ruler of the Naboo people from Star Wars, and Bowtie because she is all black and has a little white bowtie on her face.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Jodie Foster.

What did you do during the blizzard? Dried my children's snow clothes over and over again.

First job? I did telephone surveys.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grow up? A pediatrician and a ballerina. I was pre-med to become a pediatrician, and I worked in a surgical program in college where I was helping with a transplant. Then I gave a kidney to my son three years ago when he was 9, so I was a donor as well.

So what did you become?
I became a high school biology teacher.

A book you'd recommend? "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins.

Favorite charity? Samaritan's Purse.

Favorite local restaurant? Villa Verone in Geneva.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I worked as a NBC page on David Letterman's show, The Cosby Show, Saturday Night Live. I actually know the original Kenneth the Page (from NBC's "30 Rock") whom I trained.
