TWO PEOPLE arrested Thursday evening for growing marijuana in their residence appeared in circuit court Friday morning.
Bond was set at $2,000 cash for Timothy Bitner, 41, and $750 for Ragina Magee, 53, both of 1434 Crowfoot, Minooka.
They were arrested Thursday by Drug Enforcement Agents (DEA) for growing more than 50 marijuana plants in their residence. The plants were seized. Bitner and Magee were transported to the county jail for Friday's court appearance.
Public Defender J. D. Flood was appointed to represent Bitner. Magee indicated she would get her own attorney.
In addition, Bitner was stopped in the 1400 block of Red Top Lane, about 5 p.m. Thursday after officer saw him driving. The officer knew Bitner's license was suspended.
He posted $100 bond and was released.
