Joliet West's girls bowling team took charge At the IHSA State Finals on Friday afternoon, completing the mission the next day at the Cherry Bowl in Rockford and on Sunday celebrating the title.

In a fantastic local battle, Lockport edged Joliet West for its third straight IHSA state bowling title, while St. Charles East's Lida Burgos won the individual title and Lani Breedlove placed seventh to lead Oswego to fifth place.

Joliet West and Minooka earned team bids to the IHSA State Finals, with Abby Nolan earning an individual bid with her runner-up finish at Illinois Valley Super Bowl.
