Joliet kids need clothing, home goods and personal care products

G.W. Buck Boys & Girls Clubs of Joliet and Cricket Wireless hosting collection through July 6

G.W. Buck Boys & Girls Clubs of Joliet has partnered with Cricket Wireless to help the club’s families once the summer session has ended.

Clothing, home goods and personal care products are urgently needed. A full list is posted at bgcjoliet.com/cricket-wish.

The need is urgent is because “the spread of COVID-19 has affected the nutritional needs of children who rely on school or childcare centers to provide healthy meals and snacks,” according to a news release from Cricket Wireless.

The Boys and Girls Club currently serves more than 1,200 children between the ages of 6 to 18, according to the club’s website.

Through July 4, community members may drop off supplies at any of the following Cricket retail locations: 1701 N Larkin Avenue, Crest Hill; 18 S Larkin Avenue, Joliet; 425 Collins Street, Joliet; 68 S Weber Road, Romeoville; 1824 E Lincoln Highway, New Lenox; and 963 Brookforest Avenue, Shorewood.
