The Celebration of Giving 2026: Light Up Lives, the annual fundraising event for Easterseals Joliet Region, surpassed the organization’s goal by $20,000.

During the six-hour live broadcast on March 7, the community came together in a show of generosity, raising more than $160,000, surpassing the original $140,000 goal, Easterseals said in a news release.

This was made possible by the support of individuals, businesses, banks and civic organizations throughout the region. “Their contributions will have a lasting impact” on the lives of those served by Easterseals Joliet Region, the release said.

Funds will directly support essential therapy, education, training, and support services, empowering individuals with disabilities and special needs to pursue their goals and live more independently.

“This incredible outpouring of support truly reflects the strength and compassion of our community,” Deb Condotti, president/CEO of Easterseals Joliet Region, said in the release.

“Because of the community’s generosity, we can continue to make meaningful differences in the lives of so many individuals and families,” she said.
