The 2024 boys soccer season has come and gone. Now it’s time to recognize the best of the best. Here’s the 2024 Herald-News All-Area Boys Soccer Team.
FIRST TEAM

Ismael Gomez, Lockport, sr., M: The Herald-News Player of the Year. The numbers speak for themselves, as he put up 34 goals with 13 assists. SouthWest Suburban Conference Player of the Year and an all-state selection.

Liam Treacy, Lincoln-Way East, sr., D: Treacy was an all-state defender this year for the Griffins. He also was all-conference and started 25 games, contributing to 12 clean sheets on the year and adding two assists.

Kamden Williams, Lincoln-Way East, sr., M: Williams was another all-state selection and all-conference player. He scored 17 goals and had nine assists on the year.

Sebastian Chavez, Plainfield Central, sr., F: A close runner-up for Herald-News Player of the Year, Chavez was sensational. He scored 24 goals and had 13 assists. A team captain, an all-conference player for the second straight year and an all-state selection, Chavez was perhaps the best player on one of the best teams in the area.

Marshall DeGraff, Plainfield Central, jr., GK: This is DeGraff’s second straight year on the team. He recorded 11 shutouts, only allowed 19 goals and even contributed four assists. He was the conference MVP, all-region and is an all-American nominee.

Tyler Chrisman, Lemont, sr., M: Chrisman makes the team for the second straight year. Lemont was the lone area team to make it to state, and the senior was a big reason why. Chrisman scored five goals and had 15 assists. He was all-conference and all-state while also being nominated for all-Midwest.

Ethan Koranda, Minooka, jr., M: Koranda was a second-team pick for the Herald-News All-Area Team last season and makes the first team this year. He scored four goals with nine assists as a team captain. He made All-Southwest Prairie Conference and was first team all-sectional.

Kameron McShaw, Romeoville, sr., F: An all-sectional and Southwest Prairie All-Conference player who scored 15 goals with 13 assists.

Diego Garcia, Romeoville, jr., F: Garcia had 20 goals and seven assists, leading to his being an all-sectional and all-conference selection.
Iggie Escamilla, Bolingbrook, sr., M: A Memphis commit, Escamilla had 10 assists and five goals this season. He was all-conference, all-sectional and team MVP.
Ricardo Camacho, Joliet Central, jr., F: The Steelmen had one of the best seasons any of their athletic programs has had in years thanks in large part to Camacho. The junior scored 16 goals with six assists.
