Steel Mill Coffee Co. celebrates grand opening at Sterling's Sophie’s Cafe

STERLING — Steel Mill Coffee Co., a locally inspired coffee brand founded by Alije and Steven Papke, has announced the grand opening of its new coffee wall at Sophie’s Cafe in Sterling.

From now through Dec. 15, the Sterling community is invited to join the grand-opening celebration of Sophie’s Cafe’s new coffee wall with coffee tastings, exclusive giveaways and a week of special promotions.

The event will feature 20% off all coffee beans, complimentary branded gift boxes for customers purchasing one pound or more (while supplies last), and a special raffle for local businesses with prizes designed to keep their teams fueled and energized.

Steel Mill Coffee Co. was created to honor Sterling’s rich industrial history and hardworking community, said Alije, who also owns Sophie’s Cafe.

“The brand combines bold flavors with uncompromising quality, offering freshly roasted coffee blends that bring people together.

“Steel Mill Coffee Co. is a love letter to Sterling ...,” Alije said. “This grand opening is a chance to bring the community together and share our passion for great coffee.”

There also will be a bean-counting contest. Customers can guess the number of coffee beans in a jar for a chance to win a decorative, branded canister full of coffee. Additional contests and special prizes will be announced throughout the week on Sophie’s Cafe’s Facebook page.

Local businesses are invited to explore Steel Mill Coffee Co.’s business-to-business pricing program, offering affordable, high-quality coffee solutions in bulk.

Business raffle prizes include one month of free coffee, five pounds per week; a coffee-tasting experience for the office, featuring a sampler box of Steel Mill Coffee Co.’s blends; and a branded merchandise pack, including mousepads, a bag of coffee, branded pens and custom acacia wood coasters.

The celebration is from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 9-15.
