A 35-year-old Chicago Heights man was charged with stabbing a woman with a knife in McHenry County.

Antonio J. Goldaracena, of the 1100 block of Wallace Court, was arrested Sunday by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and subsequently charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

He is accused of stabbing a woman in the leg with a knife, causing a “deep gash” that required four to five staples to close, according to a complaint.

Goldaracena also was charged with possessing less than 1 gram of cocaine.

Goldaracena was released Wednesday from the McHenry County Jail after posting the required 10% of a $50,000 bond.

He is being represented by the McHenry County Public Defender’s Office. An attempt to reach his public defender Thursday was unsuccessful.
