Contractor injured at Scot Forge metal manufacturer in Spring Grove

A construction contractor suffered an injury while working at the Scot Forge facility on Wednesday afternoon in Spring Grove.

Spring Grove Fire Protection District Chief Paul Klicker said a construction contractor suffered an injury believed to be not life-threatening at the facility, located at 8001 Winn Road, and was transported to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital.

The company posted on Facebook on Wednesday: “We are aware of the incident that occurred earlier today at our Spring Grove facility involving an onsite contractor. Emergency responders were promptly contacted, and the individual was transported by ambulance. Scot Forge will be unable to provide an update on the individual’s condition, as the incident involved an outside contractor.”

The company added it was “grateful for the quick response of the Spring Grove Fire Department and all first responders. Safety remains our top priority for all employee-owners and onsite guests.”
