The Republican candidates for DuPage County’s top executive post have cast themselves as law-and-order conservatives, but that’s where the similarities end.

Candidate forums for both Democrats and Republicans running in the DuPage County Board District 4 primary will be presented in a virtual format May 11 by area League of Women Voters chapters.

DuPage County Board District 1 candidate Maria Reyes on the opioid crisis: "I propose the distribution of fentanyl testing strips. While the strips may not test how much fentanyl is in the drug, it will provide an indication of the type of drug that is being used."

DuPage County Board candidate Rich Janor on the work of the DuPage County Sheriff "I applaud Sheriff Mendrick for seeing and regarding inmates as human beings and not as animals, like prisoners are often considered." Read the full election questionnaire here.
