The National Weather Service issued tornado watch around 2 p.m. for North Central Illinois, including La Salle and Bureau counties, until 8 p.m.

This watch encompasses 10 counties in Northern Illinois including Boone, DeKalb, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, Winnebago, Grundy, Kane, Kendall and McHenry.

Residents are advised to stay tuned to news alerts until the watch lapses.
