DuPage County reports 119 COVID-19 cases Thursday, 2 deaths, 10.58% of population fully vaccinated

The DuPage County Health Department on Thursday reported 119 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 2 deaths, 2 men in their 80s.

The county now has seen a total of 73,163 coronavirus cases including 1,206 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Feb. 23 was 98.2%.

DuPage County has administered 280,876 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 98,224 people, or 10.58% of the total population, are fully vaccinated.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 50 consecutive days under 8%. The region’s positivity rate decreased to 4.4%. Currently, 31% of ICU beds are available.

The region has 88 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.

Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 4.5% and DuPage County is at 4.3%.

Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for 10 out of the last 10 days in this region.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,700 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 55 additional deaths Thursday, and a total of 3,680,703 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.

By town, Wheaton has had 3,966 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,796, Lombard 3,808, Villa Park 2,287, Hinsdale 1,201, Westmont 1,843, Darien 1,515, Woodridge 2,279, Downers Grove 3,556, Elmhurst 3,759, Warrenville 1,158 and Winfield 948. Addison has had 4,411 confirmed cases, Naperville 6,648, Carol Stream 3,907 and West Chicago 3,983.
