Glen Ellyn Park District to clean Lake Ellyn as part of DuPage River Sweep

The Glen Ellyn Park District invites community members to make a positive impact on the environment by joining the annual DuPage River Sweep from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road in Glen Ellyn.

The Glen Ellyn Park District is calling on community members to join to participate in the annual DuPage River Sweep.

This year’s clean-up event will focus on Lake Ellyn’s shoreline and the surrounding park areas, contributing to a healthier DuPage River system.

The event will take place April 18, from 9 am to 12 pm April 18 at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn.

Volunteers will work together to remove debris from the shoreline and park grounds surrounding the lake, preventing litter from entering the DuPage River. This effort is a crucial part of maintaining the health and beauty of our local ecosystem.

Participants are encouraged to bring rubber boots or hip waders if available. All other necessary supplies, including gloves and bags, will be provided by the Glen Ellyn Park District.

This family-friendly event is open to all ages. Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is required by April 4. Interested volunteers can register by visiting The Conservation Foundation’s website at theconservationfoundation.org/sweep.
