Rep. Bos launches ‘Beauty of the 51st District’ photo contest

Adults, students invited to submit black-and-white photographs

LAKE ZURICH – State Rep. Chris Bos, R-Lake Zurich, who represents the 51st District, is hosting a photo contest to showcase the beauty of the area.

Students and adults wishing to participate may submit black-and-white photos of historical sites, buildings or natural landmarks that demonstrate the beauty of the 51st District.

Winning photos will be recognized by Bos and displayed in his Lake Zurich office for the duration of the 102nd General Assembly.

“We live in a unique and beautiful part of Illinois,” Bos said in a news release. “This contest is about showcasing that beauty and the different forms it is represented by in our communities that make up the 51st District.”

The contest runs until April 30. Participants should submit their photos by email to bos@ilhousegop.org.

Contest rules:

* Photos must be black and white. Photos should be historical sites, buildings or natural landmarks that demonstrate the beauty of the 51st District (see the district map at repbos.com).

* The contest is open to students in sixth to 12th grade, as well as adults. Winning photos will be selected for each of the two groups.

* Participants may submit multiple entries. The deadline for entries is April 30.

* Include your name, address, phone number and where the photo was taken with your submission.

Bos will choose winning entries in May and invite the photographers for an unveiling at his Lake Zurich district office.
