LAKE VILLA – Prince of Peace Catholic School, a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon school, announced Catholic Schools Week will take place from Jan. 31 to Feb. 6.
National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the U.S. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week.
The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2021 is “Catholic schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.”
Throughout the week, Prince of Peace, as well as other Catholic schools across the U.S., will focus on the value that Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to the church, communities and nation.
National Catholic Schools Week is celebrating its 47th year in 2021.
“We value our student body, as well as our faculty, staff and parents at Prince of Peace. Catholic Schools Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate them, as well as the importance of Catholic education,” said Stephanie Stoneberg, principal of Prince of Peace. “We also value our parishioners and local community, and appreciate all that ours do for us.”
Patrick Vaccaro said choosing a Catholic education, especially at Prince of Peace Catholic School, was an easy decision for his family.
“Our family has been at Prince of Peace now for a decade,” Vaccaro said. “We sought a faith-based education that would help support the values that we want to instill in our family, as well as strong academics to prepare them for their future. We have received that and so much more. We are part of a community and family that shares support for one another with a focus on our kids.
“The fact that my children have been able to learn in person all this school year is a significant benefit,” he added. “The school and parish have followed every safety guideline since before school started. Prince of Peace places our children’s safety as its top priority, which is important to me. It’s also important that my children are able to experience classroom learning, safely surrounded by their peers.”
Prince of Peace School has offered in-person learning since August. Those interested in learning more about the school can call Stoneberg at 847-356-6111 or visit http://school.princeofpeacelv.org/. In-person tours that follow all safety guidelines are available.
