Cardboard canoe race coordinator Stephanie Roskopf, along with the United City of Yorkville, would like to thank the participants in this year’s race held during Yorkville’s River Fest. Mackenzie Conley in the Red Rocket was fastest down the rapids followed closely by Robert Mueller, captain of Foxes, and Eric Emmert on (Wilson). Making it down the rapids amid viewers’ oohs and aahs were Pure Black with Mason Smith in the captain’s seat, Adam Mokelke capturing the moments in the Camera, Daniel Mokelke navigating the Sleigh to Santa’s nice list, and can’t forget J.T. cleaning up the mess in Alta’s Forklift.

The City of Yorkville is happy to say that this splashtastic event will be happening again next year. Grab your cardboard and plan your design. The cold winter months are the perfect time to create a canoe.
