Oswego civic groups seeking back-to-school supply donations for local youth

The Oswego Kiwanis Club and Community Cares are partnering together to help students get their school supplies for the 2021-2022 school year in the second annual Start Strong backpack program - but they need help.

The groups recently received registrations for 500 students in the Start Strong program, in addition to 350 students already registered. “We don’t want to turn these kids away, so we’re on a mission to get donations so that we can at least help them with some of their school supplies,” a post to the Community Cares Facebook page read.

Those wishing to help the organizations can order from wish lists set up through Target and Amazon or from a list of supplies still needed, and have them delivered to the Community Cares address, 306 Westminster Court, Oswego, or donate cash through Paypal or Venmo at communitycaresgroup.
