High school sports roundup for Tuesday, Aug. 31: Led by Camden Bonney’s 1-under par 35, Oswego East golfers edge West Aurora

BOYS GOLF

Oswego East 152, West Aurora 157

Camden Bonney fired a 1-under par 35 to claim medalist honors, leading the Wolves to the dual meet win at Fox Bend. Gavin Hjelle carded a 37, Eric Lewis a 39 and Michael Hugelier a 41.

Seneca 173, Sandwich 193, Plano 230

Plano’s Mason Accidentale shot a 38 to take home medalist honors at Edgebrook Golf Course. Noah Campbell shot Sandwich’s low round of 47.

GIRLS GOLF

Oswego Co-Op 177, Plainfield North 194

Katelin Hong and Shyell Lowe both carded scores of 41, leading Oswego Co-Op to the dual win. Seniors Katie O’Driscoll (44) and Katie Gilmartin (51) both shot their personal bests.

West Aurora 198, Yorkville 203

Mia Natividad shot a 40 to pace the Foxes at Blackberry Oaks. Laine Leonard posted a 50.

Sandwich

Sandwich traveled to Seneca Oak Ridge to play against La Salle-Peru and Seneca. Sandwich only had three players so wasn’t able to qualify for a team score.

Alijah Campbell had a round of 45, and Georgia Vehe had a personal best 9-hole score with a 53. Melody Goldstein finished the scoring with a 58.  

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Newark d. Hiawatha 25-6, 25-13.

Megan Williams had nine kills, four aces and four digs to lead the Lady Norsemen (2-1, 1-0). Bre Dixon added nine assists and Lauren Ulrich eight assists

GIRLS TENNIS

Oswego 6, Yorkville 1

Oswego wins were turned in by Mandy Tsang at No. 2 singles, Rylie McNanna at No. 3 singles, Sofia Carr and Mykayla Mendiola at No. 1 doubles, Riley Fioresi and Sharanya Begur at No. 2 doubles, Lauren Petrauskas and Emma Beste at No. 3 doubles and Sarah Kill and Reece Kearbey at No. 4 doubles.

Yorkville’s lone win came at No. 1 singles with Jenny Lietz.

Oswego JV 5, Yorkville JV 2

Yorkville wins included the No. 3 doubles team of Olivia Hernandez and Trinity Stewart defeating Liana Melton and Avery Petzke 6-2, 6-0.  The No. 4 doubles team of Jadien Pattermann and Natalia Maldonado defeated Amanda Catey and Katie Hershberger 6-4, 6-3.
