Kendall County Health Department reports 66 new COVID-19 cases; death toll remains at 73

State reports 1,505 county residents are now fully vaccinated as of Sunday

The Kendall County Health Department reported 66 new cases of COVID-19 among county residents as of Saturday, Jan. 23.

That brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county to 10,0081, with 5,241 listed in recovery, according to the health department.

The total number of deaths in the county from COVID-19 remained at 73.

Meanwhile, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported Sunday, Jan. 24, that 1,505 Kendall County residents have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. The 1,505 residents represents 1.18% of the county’s population.

Also according to the IDPH as of Saturday, 10,562 people have been tested for COVID-19 in the 60548 ZIP code (including Sandwich) with 1,079 confirmed cases, 9,548 tested in 60545 (including Plano) with 1,273 confirmed cases, 22,284 tested in 60560 (including Yorkville) with 2,075 confirmed cases, 20,107 tested in 60538 (including Montgomery) with 2,439 confirmed cases and 26,908 tested in 60543 (including Oswego) with 2,791 confirmed cases.

People ages 20 to 49 make up the majority of COVID-19 cases in Kendall County, according to county health department data. As of Saturday, people in their 20s make up 17.6% of all cases, while people in their 30s make up 18.1%. People in their 40s make up 19.3% of the cases as of Saturday.

Residents ages 60 and older comprise about 11.1% of all cases in the county, according to county health department data. People younger than 20 make up about 17.3% of all county cases.

Women account for 53% of county COVID-19 cases, while men account for 47%, according to Saturday county health department data.
