A 42-year-old Somonauk resident was injured in a crash late Saturday, Sept. 10, near Newark.

In a statement, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the crash at 11:42 p.m. on Route 71 near Hughes Road.

The sheriff’s office said Newark Fire Protection District personnel transported the injured driver, Heather Mohler, 42, of the 2500 block of 4645 Road, to Morris Hospital in Morris.

The sheriff’s office described Mohler’s injuries as not life-threatening and said she was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.
