The University of Illinois Extension will host a fossil identification workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 11, in Room E101 at Illinois Valley Community College, 815 N. Orlando Smith Road, Oglesby.
This hands-on program is designed for fossil enthusiasts of all proficiencies and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to identify fossils found in the state. IVCC geology professor Mike Phillips will lead the workshop, with assistance from Master Naturalist volunteers.
This event is open to all ages and skill levels. Space is limited, and registration is required at go.illinois.edu/FossilFun.
