What: A Kankakee man was charged with shooting another man in a dispute over a woman, prosecutors alleged in court on Thursday.

Travis M. Taylor, 26, was held on $750,000 bond — murder typically garners a $1 million bond — for the shooting Sept. 12 in the 400 block of North Cottage Avenue. Prosecutors in court said the victim's brother witnessed the attack.

Prosecutors did say that Taylor shot the victim twice about 12:45 a.m. Saturday after the two argued over a woman they both know. They said Taylor threatened to kill him. Taylor was on parole after serving a four-year sentence for a November 2012 weapons charge.

Judah Herring, of Bradley, and Claudia L. Posing, of Kankakee, after executing a search warrant on an apartment in the 600 block of West Station Street on Feb. 25.

The 19-year-old Herring was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, armed violence, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and a Kankakee County warrant for failing to appear for drug court back in January. A judge set Herring’s bond at $250,000.

Posing, 18, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. A judge set her bond at $200,000.

Agents recovered 312.5 ounces of cannabis, 3.1 ounces of the designer drug methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV), 82 ecstasy pills, 10 hydrocodone and morphine pills, two loaded revolvers, ammunition and $500 in cash.

What: Morris is alleged to have shot and killed Kevin Wright Jr., wounded Antwan Lawrence and shot at Debraun Mayo on Oct. 17 in an alley in the 700 block of North Greenwood Avenue. Wright died of a gunshot wound to the head on Oct. 19. Lawrence was struck in the stomach and has been released from the hospital. Mayo has been charged with delivery of controlled substance in a KAMEG bust earlier this year. Bond was denied Morris.

Police believe this was in retaliation for an earlier incident tin 2017. Wright is the sixth homicide victim in Kankakee. The county has seven total.

Jones died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (July 11) at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood. He was shot once in the head. The shooting occurred in the 200 block of North Cottage Avenue in Kankakee at about 6:30 p.m. July 9 on the city's north side. There was a gathering that included about 10 people

Charge: Murder, May 19, 2014

At about 2 a.m. Monday May 19, 2014, a shooting took place outside of the Whatever Bar, located in the 300 block of South East Avenue. A 27-year-old man, LaRoy McDaniel, was shot numerous times and died from those wounds shortly thereafter. Three other people were also wounded by gunfire.

Jesse Villagomez, 24, of Kankakee, has been charged with the murder. His bond was set Tuesday at $1.5 million.

One of the shooting victims, Robert Scott III, 30, of Kankakee, who was shot four times, remains hospitalized in a Kankakee hospital, Passwater said.

The two other shooting victims were each shot in the foot.

Villagomez is not a stranger to police. In February 2009, he pleaded guilty to aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. In August 2012, he pleaded guilty to a unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and received the minimum three-year sentence. He was released in November 2013.

U.S. Marshals tracked Robert D. Williams, 28, in a relative's home on the West Side of Chicago around 9:40 a.m. He is accused of shooting a man on Sept. 24 in a bizarre incident that involved the victim's girlfriend. Police say the victim returned to the apartment on Main Street in Manteno that he shared with his girlfriend, only to find Williams.

Williams met the victim in the kitchen and fired eight shots, hitting him six times, including once in the abdomen and one that grazed his chest.

What: A Kankakee man was charged with shooting another man in a dispute over a woman, prosecutors alleged in court on Thursday.

Travis M. Taylor, 26, was held on $750,000 bond — murder typically garners a $1 million bond — for the shooting Sept. 12 in the 400 block of North Cottage Avenue. Prosecutors in court said the victim's brother witnessed the attack.

Prosecutors did say that Taylor shot the victim twice about 12:45 a.m. Saturday after the two argued over a woman they both know. They said Taylor threatened to kill him.Taylor was on parole after serving a four-year sentence for a November 2012 weapons charge.

Three men were charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and aggravated battery for shooting a man in the early morning on July 16, 2017. Claude A. Lee, 18; Tyrese M. Miller, 18; and Braidon D. Neal, 18; were in court on Thursday.

According to a release, police were called to the Blatt subdivision at 4 a.m. for suspicious activity. There, they found blood and other evidence. A local hospital called investigators about a gunshot victim who was being treated there. The victim said he had been shot and robbed.

Accused of shaking to death the 11-month-old daughter (Kyarah Coleman) of his live-in girlfriend. Police contend the abuse to Kyarah happened while Cranford was baby-sitting the girl at 216 Crestlane Drive, Apt. 306. There, they allege, Cranford "grabbed Kyarah Coleman about her body with his hands and shook her,'' court documents say.

The baby's mother, Shanika Johnson, 20, is not a suspect, Etzel added. Johnson works as a waitress at a local restaurant.

Baby was briefly hospitalized in Chicago for what investigators say was a case of undernourishment. A month prior to her death. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services has yet to conclude its own probe. But a DCFS spokesman last week reiterated the agency had no record of any previous contact with the child or family. Baby's father, Carlos Coleman
