Two new nurse practitioners — Judy Rivard and Janella Schroeder — have joined the Iroquois Memorial Hospital staff at satellite clinics in Watseka and Milford, CEO Chuck Bohlmann announced Tuesday.
"Recruiting mid-level providers is an important step in making sure that primary health care services are more accessible to the residents of the IMH service area," Bohlmann said. This was identified as a need to be addressed when IMH conducted a community needs assessment last summer, he said.
Rivard is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University with a master's degree in nursing and family nurse practitioner. Her nursing experience includes obstetrics and intensive care. She is seeing patients at the IMH Multi Specialty Clinic at 200 Laird Lane, Watseka (815-432-5411) and the Milford Clinic at 207 Axtel Ave., Milford (815-889-4540).
Schroeder began her career at IMH in 2001 as a registered nurse in surgery and later became a house supervisor. She has since earned a master's degree as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville. She is seeing patients at the IMH Multi Specialty Physicians Clinic (815-432-541).
A third nurse practitioner is expected to join the IMH Clinic staff in the near future, Bohlmann announced.
