Princeton wins first game, BV to play for title at Wethersfield

Princeton won its first game of the year, defeating Geneseo 62-50 in the Geneseo Thanksgiving Tournament play Friday evening.

Grady Thompson led the Tigers with 24 points with Teegan Davis adding 15 and Kaden Monroe 11.

Earlier in the day, PHS lost to Rockridge, 72-69, in overtime. Kaden Monroe had 23 points with Davis adding 14 and Thompson 12.

The Tigers (1-2) will finish tournament play at 4:30 p.m. Saturday vs. Rock Falls.

Storm reach finals at Wethersfield

Bureau Valley 60, Stark County 44: The Storm improved to 4-0 with a win Friday night over the Rebels. BV will play Putnam County for the championship at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Red Devils win first game

Hall 52, St. Anne 43: The Red Devils notched their first win of the Seneca Thanksgiving Tournament and season, defeating the Cardinals Friday.

Ethan Plym had 13 points, Drake Garland had 12 and Mac Resetich added 11.

Due to COVID issues with other teams, Hall’s Twitter account said the Red Devils will not be playing in Saturday’s finals.
