The DuPage County Health Department on Tuesday reported a single-day record 1,561 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 2 deaths, 2 women in their 70s.
The county now has seen a total of 45,680 coronavirus cases including 741 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of November 24 was 96.8%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen zero consecutive days under 12%. The region's positivity rate decreased to 12.7%. Currently, 18.8% of medical/surgical beds are available and 26.6% of ICU beds.
The region has five consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability, and one day under the 20% threshold for medical/surgical bed availability.
The Kane/DuPage region has a rolling, seven-day average of 645 COVID-19 patients in the hospital. Hospitalizations have decreased eight out of the past 10 days in this region.
Within this region, Kane County's seven-day positivity average is at 15.0%, and DuPage County is at 11.7%.
Finally, within the DuPage/Kane region, there are 98 available, staffed ICU beds out of 344 total, an increase of 16 from Monday.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 12,542 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 125 additional deaths Tuesday.
By town, Wheaton has had 2,419 total cases, Glen Ellyn 1,715, Lombard 2,342, Villa Park 1,359, Hinsdale 687, Westmont 1,144, Darien 907, Woodridge 1,446, Downers Grove 2,028, Elmhurst 2,290, Warrenville 708 and Winfield 551. Addison has had 2,899 confirmed cases, Naperville 3,800, Carol Stream 2,438 and West Chicago 2,640.
