Illinois Valley Community College announced agriculture transfer agreements with Illinois State University and Southern Illinois University.
With these agreements, IVCC students can pursue and complete an Associate of Applied Science degree in agronomy or agricultural business management, then transfer to ISU or SIU to complete a bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
IVCC agriculture program co-coordinators Willard Mott and Kathryn Seebruck said they are excited about the impact the agreements will have on IVCC students.
“These agreements mean students pursuing traditional, nontransfer career degrees can now seamlessly transfer and finish a bachelor’s degree in agriculture at a major university,” Mott said.
“These agreements provide more versatility for students who may be undecided on whether they want to transfer after two years at IVCC,” Seebruck said.
Former IVCC students holding an AAS in agriculture also are eligible to pursue a bachelor’s degree with ISU or SIU under the terms of the new agreement.
