DuPage County reports 666 cases Friday, 6 deaths, region's positivity rate decreases to 13.7%

The DuPage County Health Department on Friday reported 666 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 6 deaths, 4 men in their 70s and 2 women in their 90s.

The county now has seen a total of 41,920 coronavirus cases including 710 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of November 10 was 96.6%.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen zero consecutive days below the 12% threshold to return to Tier 2 mitigations. The region's positivity rate decreased to 13.7%. Currently, 20.1% of medical/surgical beds and 20.1% of ICU beds are available.

The region has been above the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability and above the 20% threshold for medical/surgical bed availability for one day apiece.

The West Suburban region has a rolling seven-day average of 691 COVID-19 patients in the hospital. Hospitalizations have increased six out of the past 10 days in this region.

Within this region, Kane County's seven-day positivity average is at 16.3%, and DuPage County is at 12.3%.

Finally, within the West Suburban region, 72 out of 344 staffed ICU beds are available, an increase of five from Thursday.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 7,574 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 66 additional deaths Friday.

By town, Wheaton has had 2,155 total cases, Glen Ellyn 1,556, Lombard 2,101, Villa Park 1,257, Hinsdale 640, Westmont 1,057, Darien 824, Woodridge 1,357, Downers Grove 1,845, Elmhurst 2,108, Warrenville 644 and Winfield 505. Addison has had 2,718 confirmed cases, Naperville 3,445, Carol Stream 2,240 and West Chicago 2,444.
