Breathing life into history at West Carroll Middle School

Hailey Yenney of West Carroll Middle School portrays Caroline Mark at the Owen P. Miles Museum on Saturday during one of the events for Mount Carroll's sesquicentennial celebration. The museum gave tours in the afternoon and used students as characters in their "wax museum" displays. Caroline Mark and her husband, James, were wealthy longtime residents of Mount Carroll. The historic retirement home, Caroline Mark Home, in Mount Carroll was built in 1906 through an endowment made in Mark's estate. (Craig Lang)
