Police seek woman over Crest Hill Inn fatal stabbing

The Crest Hill police are searching for a 22-year-old woman in connection with the slaying of a Joliet man who was stabbed to death at the Crest Hill Inn.

Taja Davis' last known address is 1515 E. 72nd Street in Chicago, according to a Crest Hill police news release. Officers are looking for Davis in connection with the death of Jakkar Green-Hosey, 30, of Joliet, on Friday at the Crest Hill Inn, 2109 Plainfield Road.

“Police have learned through investigation that the incident that led to his death was the result of an altercation at the Crest Hill Inn,” police said.

Green-Hosey was identified by the Will County Coroner’s Office three days after his death.

He was pronounced deceased at noon Friday in the 2100 block of Plainfield Road in Crest Hill, according to a statement posted on the coroner’s office’s Facebook page.

“Mr. Green-Hosey was a victim of a single stab wound,” officials said.

Officers responded to the motel about 9 a.m. Friday and found Green-Hosey, according to police.

"Police secured the scene and interviewed witnesses," according to a Crest Hill police statement. "The investigation is active and progressing. This incident is specific to this location and there is no known threat to the public."

The Will Grundy Major Crimes Task Force was assisting the Crest Hill police in the investigation, the statement said.
